Our story

Built for the providers the industry's vendors stopped serving well

cremationmarketing.com is a specialist search practice inside Web Ninja Solutions. It exists for one kind of client: the independent, family owned funeral home or cremation provider that needs to be found online and has no interest in becoming a rounding error on someone else's platform.

Why this practice exists

Two things changed at once

The first is the cremation shift. Cremation now accounts for the majority of US dispositions and is projected to reach 82.3% by 2045. Families choosing cremation research providers online, compare prices before calling, and often decide inside a single search session. Visibility in local results stopped being a nice-to-have and became the front door.

The second is consolidation. Most of the marketing vendors that independents relied on have been acquired and rolled up under private equity ownership. Tribute Technology alone absorbed several of the legacy names in this category. The products still work, but the service model changed: annual platform contracts, ticket queues, and a roadmap written for the largest accounts.

A family owned firm with two locations and a hundred and forty services a year is not that account. This practice is the alternative: small, specialised, and answerable to the provider paying the invoice.

Who we serve

Independent and family owned only

This is a boundary, not a preference. We do not take chain or consolidator owned locations, including those operating under Service Corporation International, Dignity Memorial, Carriage Services, or similar groups. Their marketing is decided at a corporate level and it is not work we are built for.

A good fit

Independent, family owned, one to four locations

Owner-operated firms where the person deciding on marketing is also the person answering the phone at two in the morning. Traditional funeral homes, cremation-only providers, and firms that do both.

Also a good fit

Providers in secondary metros

Markets outside the largest metropolitan areas, where local search is winnable and the competition is other independents rather than a national ad budget. Most of the fifteen metros we serve look like this.

Not a fit

Chain and consolidator owned locations

Locations under Service Corporation International, Dignity Memorial, Carriage Services, or comparable groups. Their marketing is set centrally, and we would not be able to do useful work inside that structure.

How we work

Five working principles, stated up front

These are the terms we hold ourselves to. If any of them stops being true, you will hear it from us before you notice it yourself.

01

One client per service area

We will not optimise two providers for the same searches. When a market is taken, we say so and decline the work rather than splitting our attention and working against a client we already have.

02

You talk to the person doing the work

There is no account manager layer relaying questions to a delivery team. The person who rebuilt your Google Business Profile is the person who answers when you call about it.

03

Your accounts stay yours

Website, Google Business Profile, Analytics, Search Console, Ads. All of it stays in your name and your ownership. If you leave, nothing gets switched off and nothing has to be rebuilt.

04

Plain reporting, monthly

A heatmap showing where you rank across your service area, and a short written summary of what moved, what did not, and what we are doing about it. No dashboard login you never open.

05

Month to month after the initial term

The minimum term exists because we fund your ads for three months. Once it is served, the retainer continues month to month with thirty days notice. We would rather keep clients by being useful.

The team

Two people, and you will know both of them

This is the whole practice. There is no delivery team behind a sales team, and no account manager between you and the work. You speak to the person doing it.

Anujeet Shivam

SEO & marketing · 10+ years

Anujeet runs the search side of every account: the technical work on your site, the Google Business Profile, the content programme, and the ad campaigns that carry the first three months. Ten years of local SEO across service businesses, which is long enough to have watched a lot of tactics stop working.

His reason for specialising in this industry is straightforward: cremation changed how families find a provider, and the vendors serving independents consolidated at exactly the wrong moment. That is a gap worth working in.

Lavanya

Sales & client relations

Lavanya is the first conversation and every conversation after it. She handles the audit requests, walks providers through what the programme actually involves, and will tell you plainly when your market is already taken or when the fit is wrong.

Once you are a client she stays the point of contact: the monthly report lands with a note from her, and questions about it get answered the same week rather than routed to a queue.
